Grief Support for Adults

Drop-in Grief Support

Drop-in every Tuesday afternoon from 2:30-4:30 at the Mental Health and Addictions Conference room on the 2nd
floor in the Courthouse Building. Trained staff are there to listen and offer education and support.

Grief Support Groups

Every Spring and Fall we offer Grief Support groups where you can come and be with others who are on a similar journey. Grief shared lessens the load. We provide education as well as support in an atmosphere of trust and acceptance. Pre-registration is required.

One-to-One Support

We offer one-to-one grief support for those who prefer or, are not ready for a group

Library

We have in our library, books that we use to offer weekly book studies. We read portions of the book and then come together to discuss what we have learned and support one another.

Grief Education Sessions

Trained facilitators are available to offer Grief Education sessions. Upon request, we will come to your place of work and provide some education on what grief can look like, what to expect in grief and healthy ways of coping with grief, and at the same time allowing participation from the group to express their pain, concerns and reactions.

Bereavement Intervention

Trained facilitators are available to provide bereavement interventions for the workplace or for family groups when they have experienced the loss of a co-worker or family member.

At BVHS, we recognize that each individual’s journey is unique, and that much comfort and support is received simply in telling your story.
