Volunteering

Volunteers play a key and pivotal role in providing excellent hospice care. They are compassionate, caring, non-judgmental individuals from all backgrounds and life experience.

Volunteers are carefully selected through a process that includes completing an application, reference
check, interview, and criminal records check. Volunteers also must complete approximately 30 hrs of comprehensive training preparing them to work along side individuals and families dealing with life limiting illness and/or end of life.

Volunteers work within the mission, goals and values of BV Hospice Society. They are willing to enhance their hospice work by participating in on-going education and attending volunteer meetings. They respect confidentiality at all times.

BV Hospice Society is committed to providing guidance and support from the Volunteer Coordinator, on-going training and support from other volunteers in a like-minded community.

Become part of our equipment crew

Our equipment crew is made up of a group of caring, compassionate and physically able individuals who are primarily involved with the set up and take down of electric beds in the community.
The screening process includes a Criminal Record Check at the time of acceptance.
